Hope Community Covenant Church is currently running their Hope Roof Repair Fund, and they'll be getting a lot more help than expected!

Office Manager Brandi Bobee explained an anonymous donor is matching all donations up to $10 000 until October 31. Bobee is very grateful to this donor for what could be an incredibly large contribution.

"It's pretty awesome, it's an over and above cost that we just don't have the money for, so it's nice to have somebody step up and do that"

Bobee explained the roof has been leaking in several areas, and with shingles getting blown off, a repair is much needed. With costs looking to be around $60 000, every dollar counts! The repairs are especially important since the building is more than just a church.

"This is not just a church, it is also a community centre as well. We have the Strathmore Theatre Players here, we have the Girl Guides here, we have Hope Bridges here, so a lot of groups use this building. It's not just a roof for a church, it helps everyone in the community."

"Even just rentals for birthday parties, we run our school breakfast program out of here, so there's a lot of stuff going on in this building all the time."

With so much going on in the building, a roof repair could impact the community in a bigger way than residents might expect. If you're interested in donating, you can do so on their website.
