With Brooke Henderson winning The CP Women's Open last weekend, female golf is taking off in popularity.  Brian Bassen, Head C.P.G.A. Professional and General Manager at the Strathmore Golf Club had a chance to take four Strathmore youths to a lesson with Henderson.  Bassen stated, " The event was sponsored by PING and everyone got a hat, ball and a picture signed with Brooke Henderson and she was very accommodating through the whole thing."  Bassen also commented on "The sheer power of her drive was amazing, hitting 290 yrds easily and her choice of club was unique in that it was two inches longer than most."  Brian Bassen has done a lot to increase the game locally by offering a discount to younger players to entice them to get into the sport.  This was a successful tactic growing the membership from six to thirty-six this past year.
