Goalie Corey Ross is the Strathmore Motor Products King of the Week.

This is Ross' first year with the Kings -- before that, he was playing junior hockey up north.

His record is 3-3-2 with a .906 save percentage.

"I have been playing hockey since I was eight years old. My love for the sport started because my grandmother and dad were goalies. It just captured me," said Ross.

Ross believes he's a good teammate.

"My biggest strength is that I am always thinking of the greater good of the team no matter what that is and I am always bringing a wealth of knowledge."

When Ross is not on the ice, he's a full-time home builder. In the future, he hopes to be a firefighter.

"While I am not at work, I like to go to the mountains, be outside, hike, ride my bike, and of course hang out with my friends."

The Wheatland Kings will play a game against the Cochrane Generals on Sunday (Nov 25) for their Hockey Fights Cancer fundraiser. A game Ross is excited about.

"Most of my family has been affected by cancer in some type of way and just knowing that I can participate in something like that and help grow the knowledge and funds to support cancer research is very special to me."

Ross explained that for the Kings to win they need to keep it simple and try not to overthink their execution.
