The Town of Drumheller is attempting to make history and win a Guinness World Record.

The “Jurassic Jamboree” is an event that will take over Downtown Drumheller on Saturday, April 27 for a day filled with fun activities for dino fanatics of all ages.

One of the scheduled events will be an attempt to win a Guiness World Record for the largest gathering of people dressed as dinosaurs.

According to Guinness World Records, the current world record holder is Elton Castee and TFIL, where 252 people gathered dressed as dinosaurs in Los Angeles on January 26, 2019.

The count will start at 11 a.m., and there are some rules for the types of costumes that are permitted at the event, which are:

  • All costumes must be full-body dinosaur costumes with a clear headpiece and body of a dinosaur.
  • No ride-on-style dinosaurs

The Jurassic Jamboree will also include events such as a pancake breakfast, live music, vendors, a mini-car show, food trucks, street hockey, and hands-on activities and exhibits at the Royal Tyrell Museum.
