This month is the Month of Giving for Kim’s Katering and Four Sisters Kitchen + Table. The two Strathmore businesses are teaming up to give back to local first responders and to the Wheatland Crisis Society (women’s shelter).

The month of giving is held from November 15 to December 15. During that time there are meals patrons can purchase and a portion of the sales will be donated to first responders and the shelter. Those items include baking, meals to go, and frozen meals.

In addition, for those who purchase hot meals from Kim’s Katering or Four Sisters Kitchen +Table on Wednesdays, a portion of that goes to buy special dollar bills for frontline workers. The workers then can come in and get soup, sandwiches, or anything they’d like themselves.

Kim Lund from Kim’s Katering talks about why it was important to give back.

“We usually have done quite a few things before the shelter in the past, and this is a good program to donate to. I know some paramedics, and some of the firemen,” she said.

“I know some people that work at the hospital but I just feel like it's something that community can do to give back a little bit,” said Lund.  “So far we've had a good response from the community. People are buying the cookie boxes and our hot meals. I think it'll be worthwhile."

For those that buy the hot meals on Wednesday, they are also entered to win a $100 visa gift card.

“They can also just come in anytime during the month and buy baking, or meals to go from Four Sisters or Kim’s Katering and they're also entered into a draw. We have special cookie boxes and frozen meals and other things that we will take their name for and we'll put it into a draw.”
