The Strathmore Wheatland Kings faced a tough loss on Saturday in overtime against the Lomond Lakers.

General manager for the Kings, Lee Smith explained more about the game.

“Well, Saturday was kind of a heartbreaker. We lost 3-2 in overtime to a team we probably should beat every time so it was a little difficult. Sunday, we came and we played Coaldale and we beat them, and they were on an 8-game winning streak and we beat them 3-1.”

This upcoming week has two away games and Smith said that the team is looking forward to it.

“We have Kanai Braves on Friday, and on Saturday we go to Sylvan Lake who we haven’t played before in this season,” explained Smith. “It should be a tough contest. Their second or third in the North Division, so it'll be a good test for us.”
