The Hope Bridges Society is hosting a community concert music series as part of a newly reimagined music discovery class.

Hope Bridges Society, through music discovery, has been able to provide barrier-free access to an accredited music therapist and an unparalleled program that is designed to encourage social interaction, connection, and community while making music.

Instruction focuses on music knowledge and developing skills through singing, movement, and instrumental play, including drums, tone chimes and percussion.

Music Discovery participants, in addition to weekly classes, participate in free community concerts.

In 2023 Hope Bridges Society organized five concerts and has five concerts organized for this year to encourage music and culture in Strathmore and Wheatland County.

"Some of the musicians have worked with Hope Bridges before, but some haven't worked with us at all," said Janice Littlefair, Coordinator with Hope Bridges Society.

These concerts are an opportunity for Music Discovery participants to experience, see, hear, interact, and connect with local musicians and to share their music in a safe and celebratory community setting.

The Community Concert Music Series breaks down and challenges barriers for adults with disabilities, they are an invitation to a place not normally made for people with disabilities to celebrate and share gifts and joy through music.

Participants share the stage and spotlight alongside local musicians and in front of an audience and demonstrate their love of music and find joy in collaboration.

The performers are all from the Strathmore, Wheatland County, and Calgary area.
