A woman from Drumheller was arrested for stealing over $600 in items.

At 3 p.m. Drumheller RCMP were alerted to a woman stealing items from a local Walmart.

A RAVE (Mobile Safety App) alert was sent out which helped officers find the woman, and have the 40-year-old arrested and charged.

Most of the stolen goods were recovered.

The RAVE Mobile Safety App is a mass notification system used to inform the public in cases where critical communications and public safety messages are vital. Users receive messages that are operational and educational, including:

  • BOLOs (be on the lookout)
  • Crime prevention tips
  • Traffic safety tips
  • Police reports

The woman's name was not released.
