Showing great promise going into the Zones competition the Strathmore High School Boys Volleyball team came just short of the tournament win.  Head Coach Cole Hintz describes the events leading to the final, "We finished first in our pool and then we had George McDougall in the semi-final, and then Cochrane in the final. The battle was always going to be between us and Cochrane. So we finished second, we lost to Cochrane in the final, we lost 25 to 22 and 26 to 24."

When playing in such a close competition the matches were wild and unpredictable, Hintz talks about the nature of high-level play, "I think the way we prepare, and the way we go about it has been successful for us over the years. At the end of the day, when you play a really good team it can kind of go either way, and you just do your best to prepare leading up to that, so that when you have those opportunities you can execute a little bit better. You need to be prepared as some teams are going to be better than you, but then hopefully, you are better than the other team."

The boys have improved tremendously over the three years and even though their goal was to put up a solid place in Provincials it still gave some members of the team to pursue the sport in the next level of play.
