Last weekend the Spartans took on Fort McMurry at Commonwealth stadium. The defence built on what they started with last game, and played extremely well, but the offence failed to get going and put points on the board.

Head coach Travis Gorski said, "We played our starters the first half and the game was 7-0 going into the half with their only points coming off a pick-six interception for a touchdown.

The second half saw a bunch of players see their first live game action.  It was a great learning experience and we built depth as a team."

There were some great plays for the defence, where Ricardo Hernandez had two fumble recoveries, and three sacks.

Tony Suteenoppakun had a tremendous game, flying all over the field, and recording a team-high in tackles.

The team show a lot of positives against a tough tier 1 school with the final score being 35-0 for Fort McMurry

This Friday The Strathmore Highschool Spartans will take on the defending tier 4 provincial champions, the Canmore Crusaders in Canmore at 4 p.m.
