Strathmore Dairy Queen took part in Miracle Treat Day on August 12, there was a short rainstorm that passed through around 3:30 but did not slow down visitors coming in to support the annual event.

Strathmore Dairy Queen owner Sheila Gordon and her staff welcomed many from the community to help make blizzards throughout the day, including but not limited to local RCMP members and members of the 104.5 More Country and Strathmore Now team.

Miracle Treat Day has been a staple in the Dairy Queen calendar since 2002 with no signs of slowing down; for every Blizzard treat purchased on Miracle Treat Day, participating locations will donate net proceeds to their local children’s hospital foundation.

Gordon expressed her gratitude to the community on a stellar fundraising day, seeing the totals reach $8,872.

"We would like to thank all of Strathmore and surrounding area for their kind support of our Miracle Treat Day which goes along way to help our own local kids at the Southern Alberta Children's Hospital. Without your support none of this would be possible."
