The spirit of Christmas was back in Strathmore this weekend with the Santa Claus parade after a hiatus in 2020.

Partnering for the second time together, the Town of Strathmore and the Reps of Remax Key brought the parade back. Many businesses participated this year, and a lot of residents came out to see the floats and entries featured this year.

It was an easy decision for the Reps of Remax Key to continue partnering with the Town to bring this event to Strathmore expressed Hayley Poirier with the Reps, "We've always been so passionate about giving back to the community this was something that was given to us as an opportunity, we took it and ran with it because we love to being involved with Strathmore and the community."

With much nicer weather than in past years, the turnout of spectators was fantastic.

"The spirit of Christmas, which is what this event was called, you could just feel it it was palatable everywhere."

The votes are in and the winners are for the Fan Favourite Contest is the Strathmore Community Football Association in first place, second place went to the Strathmore Rusty Spurs 4-H Club, and third place to Expressions The Dance Gallery.

First place winners earned a prize of $500, second place won $250, and third place received $100.

Coming back after a year off, Poirier was so excited to see such a great turnout, "We were so impressed by the number of businesses and community members and nonprofits that wanted to be involved."
