Starting yesterday (April 23), the Western Irrigation District (WID) initiated water transfer from the Bow River to Chestermere Lake.

Although the effects may become evident swiftly, the WID aims to replenish the lake by around May 1.

The City has been notified that water levels might vary due to persistent drought conditions.

According to the City, this decision is not taken lightly but must be made in response to the critical and uncontrolled circumstances imposed by the impending drought.
