Canada is playing well in Group A of the IIHF (International Ice Hockey Federation) World Junior Ice Hockey Championship in British Columbia. In their first game on December 26, the team defeated Denmark with a 14-0 shutout. In last night’s game against Switzerland, the team won with a score of 3-2.

Canada scored its first of three goals only 36 seconds into the first period when Cody Glass scored from Nick Suzuki and Maxime Comtois. Switzerland got on the score board early in the second with a power play goal, followed by Team Canada’s MacKenzie Entwistle’s goal from Shane Bowers.

Canada’s third puck in the net was made by Noah Dobson from Barrett Hayton.

Switzerland scored late in the third period, and made a goalie change, but Canada was able to hold on for the final score of 3-2 Canada.

Their next game will be December 29 at 5 p.m. PST/8 p.m. ET against the Czech Republic.

The World Junior Ice hockey Championships began on December 26 and end on Saturday January 5, 2019.
