Two people have been arrested and are facing numerous charges in relation to drug trafficking in Drumheller.

Drumheller GIS (General Investigation Section), assisted by Lethbridge ALERT (Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team), Southern Alberta CRU (Crime Reduction Unit), and Drumheller General Duty officers, conducted an investigation into drug trafficking activities between July and August of 2022. As a result of the investigation, evidence was obtained that lead to the arrest of two suspects on Aug. 3, 2022.

On Aug. 4, 2022, Drumheller RCMP executed a search warrant at a residence in the Town of Drumheller, as well as search warrants on two vehicles. As a result of these searches, the following items were seized by RCMP:

 

101 grams of Psilocybin

605 Oxycodone Pills

16 Fentanyl Tablets

10 Tylenol 3 Tablets

180.33 grams of Methamphetamine

14.66 grams of Fentanyl

1279 grams of Cannabis

Brass Knuckles

$20,965 Canadian Currency.

 

Steven Dixon (43) and Jennifer Dixon (36), both residents of Drumheller, Alta., and have been charged with the following:

 

Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (4) – Psilocybin, Oxycodone, Fentanyl and Methamphetamine

Possession of Proceeds of Crime

Possession of a Prohibited Weapon

Possession of a Controlled Substance  

 

Both are scheduled to appear in Drumheller Provincial Court on Sept. 16, 2022.
