A community can be brought together in many different ways and this weekend, the town of Strathmore was brought together through Roger's Hometown Hockey! The weekend started with the Kick-Off Party which included a free pancake breakfast in the morning and a free barbeque in the afternoon. There was also a smores contest, a skills competition for the kids, and live entertainment for everyone to enjoy.

The events would continue over at the Strathmore Family Centre in the afternoon with a ton of different activities available for people to partake in, from playing ball hockey to testing your shot accuracy.

There was also some great entertainment that took to the main stage to perform for guests like, the Mitch Belot Band, The Steve Goodtime Rockin' Hockey Show, and Drew Gregory and his band. Also taking the main stage was a Q & A with Olly and Jacob from the YouTube channel On The Bench and some Sportsnet trivia.

There was no shortage of activities to take part in during Roger's Hometown Hockey. Calgary Flames Alumni Matt Stajan, Mason Raymond, Curtis Glencross, and Mike Commodore were all available for autograph sessions as well.

The action-packed weekend wrapped up with The Parade of Champions, a parade of local clubs celebrating their pride, walking around the event and ending in front of the mobile studio where the Calgary Flames Vs. Dallas Stars game would be live broadcasted on the big screens with Ron MacLean and Tara Sloan as the hosts.
