Agriculture for Life is joining forces with Ag in the Classroom Canada to showcase farming to Alberta students.

Ag for Life brings awareness to the sector through education and farm safety programming.

Luree Williamson, CEO of Ag for Life, will be joining the Ag in the Classroom Board of Directors representing her organization as the newest provincial member.

Williamson says the national group has a similar mandate to their organization by delivering Ag education to students and teachers.

"Through the years there's an increased demand in wanting to know where food comes from. There's a huge opportunity to connect agriculture into the curriculum, having the opportunity to understand food and food production."

Williamson says they're excited to work with other groups nationally to share resources as it was a natural partnership.

Ag in the Classroom Canada Executive Director, Johanne Ross, says they're delighted to have Williamson and Ag for Life on board.

"Ag for Life shares AITC-C's passion and commitment to agriculture education and will no doubt play a vital role within our national organization and our mission to enhance student's and teacher's connection and knowledge and food across the country."
