Alberta's newly appointed Agriculture and Forestry Minister, Devin Dreeshen, says they're working with the Federal Government to restore market access to agricultural export markets.

Dreeshen's comments last week follow news two Canadian pork processing companies have had their export licenses to China temporarily suspended, affecting a plant in Red Deer.

Spokesperson for the Pork Council of Canada, Gary Stordy, says the suspensions come from a paperwork issue where there was some wrong information on the labels.

"Alberta has offered up every technical and scientific capability we have to help work with Canada and the People's Republic of China in this matter," said Dreeshen.

Dreeshen reminds farmers the AgriStability deadline has been extended to Tuesday, July 2, which gives producers affected by the trade dispute with China access to business risk management programs.
