Across Alberta Nurses and health-care workers will now be able to do their own clinical risk assessment on patients to determine the level of personal protection they need while interacting with them.

An agreement with AHS on personal protection equipment (PPE) was reached regarding the safe and effective use of PPE while battling the COVID-19 pandemic.

Together the various groups representing nurses and other front line workers say it's critical that the appropriate steps are taken to protect and prevent exposure to end transmission of COVID-19.

All staff will have access to N95 respirators if they come within two metres of a suspected, presumed or confirmed COVID-19 patient.

The groups are committed to working together to continue to monitor the supply of PPE across the province and will work to ensure there is an adequate supply of PPE. There's no supply shortage of PPE in the province.
