Members of the Strathmore Archery Club have been able to get back to practicing their aim since the outdoor range opened up. Secretary of the Archery Club Ken Kuenzl said there are a few rules still in place for the club, “members must use their own equipment and bring their own targets. Traditionally we allow access to the club targets, but with the COVID situation we just have to take precautions and ensure that members use the facility but with their own equipment.”

The club usually has an annual 3D competition at the end of May but due to the pandemic, the event was canceled. Kuenzl said, “we’re hoping, if the health authorities allow us to, do some range days where we’ll set up the 3D targets at various distances and locations across the outdoor range and just have people come out and have some fun.”

The club is going to try and plan as many fun events as they are allowed for their members to enjoy over the summer. The club had shut down for a couple of months during the pandemic but was able to start up again once the weather allowed for use of the outdoor range again.

Kuenzl said the club has seen quite a few new members join the club, some coming from Calgary when most indoor ranges were closed. If anyone is interested in becoming a member of the Strathmore Archery Club they can visit their website HERE.
