A memorial golf tournament that gives back to a sport that was loved by Kristian Ayoungman, is going to be held at the Spear Grass Golf Course this month. The KJ Memorial Golf Tournament will also give back to Siksika Nation Minor Sports.

Deannette White, Ayoungman’s sister explained why supporting Siksika Nation Minor Sports means so much.

“The reason why I chose this is my brother was supposed to be coaching in 2019.

Siksika Minor Hockey. He was asked to coach, but unfortunately, he wasn't able to do so due to the incident that happened where my brother's life was taken.”

“It's just a way of him still getting back to what he was supposed to do,” she says.

“All the proceeds, entry fees, and everything money-wise will be getting donated back to Siksika Minor Sports on behalf of the Ayoungman family.”

White says, “It's for a good cause and it’s on behalf of my brother.”

She explained that there will be lots of prizes throughout the day at each hole, there will be prize holes, jackpot holes and there will be snacks and refreshments as well as lunch.

The tournament takes place on August 13, with a check-in at 9 a.m. and a 10 a.m. shotgun start. The format will be 3:1 (3 males and 1 female a team). The registration deadline is approaching fast. The deadline is August 11. Individuals can register online or scan the QR code located on the poster.
