The Town of Strathmore is holding their 3 on 3 Ball Hockey Tournament on June 1 at Kinsmen Park.

There will be three rinks running during the tournament, with three games going on the whole time. The draw is going to be happening from 9 a.m. until 7:30 p.m. At the end of the tournament there is going to be a final championship game.

According to Lauren McGougan, events and culture co-ordinator with the Town of Strathmore, there are already 120 kids registered for the tournament.

“It is an awesome event, it's really great. It gets kids outside playing a sport that they love, and it also gets kids involved in hockey. If they are not already playing, it's a great way for them to experience it in a different environment, and it's a great way for them to be active,” said McGougan.

The tournament is part of the town’s Let’s Get Rec’d event. The event includes a Bocce Ball Tournament at the Lambert Centre on June 8 at 10 a.m., and Go Girl, a day of sports for girls between the ages of 13-17, at the Strathmore Motor Products Sports Centre on June 15 from 10 a.m. until 2:30 p.m.
