The Snow Angels program will once be again be returning this year as a great way to help your neighbours out with some shoveling.

The program is important to help residents be able to move around, and do so safely with a cleared pathway. Shoveling can be difficult or dangerous for many citizens, especially those with limited mobility or health conditions. This is where a Snow Angel would jump in and help someone out by clearing up a safe pathway for them!

The program works by having people place Snow Angel signs in their yards. This lets people know that these residents need help with shoveling, and someone could then jump in and lend a hand when needed.

“We recognized the need in our community for this service, and after researching what other communities are doing, we adopted the Snow Angels program,” said Tammi Sieben, Community Services Coordinator.

Anyone can be a Snow Angel, it doesn’t require a sign-up process of any kind, as all you have to do is help with some shoveling when you see someone who needs it!

If you need a sign you can request one from the Town by calling 403-934-9090. You can then pick the signs up from the Strathmore FCSS office inside the Municipal Building.
