The Brooks RCMP executed a search warrant at a business on 15 Avenue West, located in Brooks. Approximately $20,000 worth of stolen items were recovered from two storage lockers. Additionally, two vehicles that were stolen from Taber were recovered from the 200 block of Upland Boulevard in Brooks.
Brooks residents Brooke Mintz and Travis Seitz have been charged. Mintz was charged with Possession of Property obtained by Crime over $5000 and Failing to Comply with Release Order condition. Seitz was charged with Break and Enter, Theft of Motor Vehicle, and Flight from Peace Officer.
After judicial interim release hearings, both Mintz and Seitz were remanded into custody, with their next court appearance on Dec. 21, 2022, and Jan. 4, 2023, respectively, at Medicine Hat Provincial Court.
“The investigation is continuing, and we anticipate more charges being laid on this file,” said Const. Aaron Lagace of the Brooks RCMP Detachment. “We will seek out those who intend on victimizing the residents of Brooks and hold them accountable for their actions.”
