The Calgary Hitmen, in partnership with Siksika Health Services, unveiled a new jersey design to be worn at the upcoming “Every Child Matters” game on March 27, 2022.

The jersey was designed by local artists Jacob Alexis and Richard Running Rabbit, and honours the children lost and survivors of Canada’s residential school system.

“It’s not just a movement or a hashtag; when we say that every child matters, we’ve got to live that every day, to ensure that our children, our grandchildren, don’t have to endure the things that my parents and grandparents had to endure," explained Chief Nioksskaistamik (Ouray Crowfoot), Chief of Siksika First Nation

The uniform was designed to reflect this spirit and was developed by local Indigenous artists, Jacob Alexis and Richard Running Rabbit.
