Julianna Hodgson is currently in search of a family that has lost some precious memories.

After Hodgson’s father passed away, she was going through his belongings and found a huge box full of letters and photos dating all the way back to 1901.

“It was in a cabin of a friend that my dad was staying at 20 years ago at Eagle Lake and he found this box of photos and back then there was no Facebook or anything, so he never did end up finding the owners.”

Hodgson went to social media to see if she could finally reunite the letters with their owners after a century apart.

“There are a couple of death certificates there, lots of postcards, and lots of photos of the family. The owner marked how old each of their nieces and nephews was in each photo.”

Old letters

It was apparent to Hodgeson that someone cared for these photos and that they should be returned.

“I just felt it was a sin for them not to be with their family. I think my dad would think it's wild how many people have shared this story and want to find the owners as well because he had full intentions of doing that but he had no way of doing it 20 years ago. Now we have social media and we can take advantage of that.”

Hodgson's post has been shared over 1,000 times on Facebook alone. Those interested can contact Julianna Hodgson on Facebook, or call her at 403-680-9263.
