On Saturday, Team Canada continued their undefeated streak against Czechia in the World Juniors tournament as they beat them 5-1 in Edmonton.

Czechia started off the scoring with a short-handed goal by Martin Rvsavy, marking the first time in the entire tournament that Canada faced a deficit. Canada’s Mason McTavish then responded with a goal 10 minutes later, along with Kent Johnson, scoring the tournament's first “Michigan”.

The move is also sometimes referred to as a lacrosse goal, where a player goes around the net, puts the puck flat on his blade and slings it into the back of the net.

Canada continued their control over the game as they netted two more goals in the second period; one by Ridly Greig and another by Captain Mason McTavish. Making the score 4-1 by the end of the second.

Tyson Foerster then scored the final goal of the game making it 5-1.

The win Saturday night brings Team Canada to (3-0-0) for the tournament. The preliminary rounds finish Monday with Team Canada rounding off the preliminary round with a game against Finland (2-1-0).

The quarter-finals are set for Wednesday and the semifinals are scheduled for Friday and the medal games will be played next Saturday.
