On August 25th head down to the Strathmore Royal Canadian Legion to celebrate with the folks of Capital Power the completion of the Strathmore Solar Power Generation Facility.

The Strathmore installation is Capital Power’s first Canadian solar facility.

The facility is located on 320 acres of leased industrial land owned by the Town of Strathmore. The project works in partnership with Whispering Cedars Ranch to host 400 to 600 sheep that graze the land at the facility.
Michael Sheehan, Senior Advisor, Indigenous and Stakeholder Engagement, Capital Power explained,
Our 41-MW Strathmore Solar facility officially began operations on March 17, 2022. Since then, we’ve welcomed ~400 sheep from local Whispering Cedar Ranch to graze at the facility.”

The upcoming breakfast event is a chance for the public to get to know members of the Capital Power team.

We’ve had a great welcome from the Strathmore community, and we wanted a chance to meet and thank our neighbours. Thursday’s pancake breakfast is an opportunity for Capital Power to celebrate with the community the completion of the Strathmore Solar facility, our first solar facility in Canada and show our appreciation for the support,” Sheehan said.

The pancake breakfast will be held from 8 to 10 a.m.
