During a Special Meeting on October 26, City Council asked Administration to return the speed limit on Chestermere Blvd. to 80 km/h from 60 km/h.

Chestermere Community Operations crews will be replacing the 60 km/h speed limit signage with 80 km/h signs as soon as possible.

The city council also requested that the traffic lights at Rainbow Road and Chestermere Blvd. include a turning-only sequence for eastbound and westbound traffic.

The new traffic lights will also be programmed at Rainbow Road and West Lakeview Drive.

Council will be discussing plans for a new set of lights at the intersection of Chestermere Boulevard and Merganser Drive and Range Road 284.

Chestermere RCMP and Community Peace Officers are reminding drivers that until the signs are replaced, the posted 60 km/h speed limit remains in effect.
