After a cold snap, the Strathmore area is going to have some great chinook winds warn us up this weekend.

Meteorologist for Environment and Climate Change Canada, Sara Hoffman, explained that those winds will be with us for a while.

“We're looking at above-normal temperatures right through until next week. Normals for this time of year are about a daytime high of minus three. We're watching those winds happen, that's when those warmer temperatures will be able to mix down to your area.”

Hoffman continued that the forecast does suggest that we could stay above freezing for the month of February.

“It's looking like we're stuck in a very similar pattern. So, Alberta itself, the majority of it, will likely be above normal, at least for the start of it well into the middle of February.”
