The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and Sofina Foods Inc., have recalled Compliments brand Chicken Nuggets due to Salmonella contamination.

The recall was issued on February 27 and is a Class 1 hazard that effects Alberta and most of Canada, excluding Quebec.

A food recall warning was issued on January 25 for Compliments Chicken Nuggets- Breaded Chicken Cutlets – uncooked.

People who think they may have become sick after consuming the product, should call their doctor.

Recalled products should be thrown out, or returned to the store where they were purchased.

According to the CFIA, young children, pregnant women, the elderly, and people with weakened immune systems may contract serious and sometimes deadly infections. Healthy people may experience short-term symptoms like fever, headache, vomiting, nausea, abdominal cramps, and diarrhea. Long-term complications may include severe arthritis.
