Strathmore and the surrounding area are under a heat warning, which means that the town is now opening up a cooling station to help residents find some reprieve from the hot temperatures.

The cooling station is located at the Strathmore Motor Products Sports Centre and is available for free to anyone who needs shelter.

"Stop by if your home is too hot, or you need a place to cool off. Water fountains will be available and most importantly, air conditioning," wrote the town on its Facebook page.

The Cooling Station.

The cooling station will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. every day and will remain open until the heat warning has ended.

However, pets are not allowed at the Sports Centre. For residents looking to find a place for their pets to cool off, they can reach out to the Strathmore Fire Department by calling 403-934-3022.
