Looking for a new activity to get your blood pumping this new year.  One of the most made New Year's resolutions is to get back into shape and now you don't have to wait until spring to get out and enjoy the outdoors.  The Strathmore Golf Club has opened its groomed cross country track for the season.

Matthew Link, Assistant General Manager said, "Cross country skiing is a great opportunity for over the winter. The cost is very minimal, it is just five dollars, we run on an honour system we have a box on the north side of the clubhouse. It is a great way to promote health and wellness over the winter. We do need to give a big shout out to Ed Meyer, he sets our tracks every winter out of the goodness of his heart."

Always keeping ahead of the trend the golf course recognizes that there are many new popular methods to enjoy the open area this winter, Link describes the other activities they accommodate, "Our tracks, they are not just meant for cross country skiing, they are also great for fat biking as well as snowshoeing, however, when you are doing the fat biking, or snowshoeing we do ask that you stay to the side of the trail so that it doesn't damage it for the cross country skiers."

On the cold and sometimes dark trail, you can seek refuge in the clubhouse, but only for a short time, "The clubhouse will remain open until December 21st,  but after the Christmas season, it will be closed. Up until then if you would like to come in for a hot chocolate the clubhouse will be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m."
