CrossIron Mills Mall was closed on March 28 and will stay closed until further notice after the announcement from the Alberta Government.

On Friday, March 27, the government announced the closure of all non-essential businesses such as aesthetic services, wellness studios, and non-emergency, non-critical health services provided by regulated health professionals or registered professionals including but not limited to dentistry, physiotherapy, massage, chiropractic and optometry services.

Other businesses listed include many retail stores, clothing, computer and gaming, furniture and specialty items stores and services located in shopping malls.

“This was a difficult decision to make, but we must do everything we can to protect the safety of Albertans and limit the spread of COVID-19. Grocery stores, pharmacies, delivery services, and other essential businesses will continue to provide Albertans with the goods and services they need,” said Premier Jason Kenney.

Although there is a long list of non-essential businesses that have been closed at this time, there will still be access to stores that are deemed as essential at CrossIron Mills, Shoppers Drug Mart, Showcase, Lenscrafters and GNC will remain open and will be accessible to the public and be accessible via the Food Hall entrance.

These stores may be operating with reduced hours and people are encouraged if a trip is necessary to one of these locations to check store hours prior to going.
