Drumheller RCMP have arrested a man after he impersonated a police officer.

On June 26 police received a complaint about a Jeep that was driving behind another car with flashing lights by Highway 9 and Highway 840 in Wheatland County.

According to police, the Jeep was trying to stop the other vehicle.

The driver called police and the jeep sped past them at a speed of over 150 km/hr.

RCMP found the vehicle near Highway 9 by Drumheller, and Corey Clark, a 43-year-old man from Drumheller was taken into custody.

According to police, his vehicle had removable flashing red and blue lights and a speaker and siren system.

Clark is charged with:

  • Using equipment to impersonate a police officer.
  • Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.
  • Breach of probation.
  • Stunting.
  • Driving a motor vehicle with unlawful flashing lamps.
  • Possession of contraband cigarettes.

He was released from custody on a $500 promise to pay release order following a release hearing.

Clark will appear in Drumheller court on July 12.
