An Edmonton Oilers superfan is gearing up for Game 7 of the Stanley Cup final tonight.

Trevor Weal lives in Strathmore and has become known as 'McMullet' after he was spotted at an Oilers home game with his mullet dyed orange and blue.

Weal told StrathmoreNow he's excited for tonight's game and hopes the Oilers can make history.

"In November they were bottom of the league and to see them battle and here we are today, Game 7 of the Stanley Cup final, it's kind of unbelievable."

Weal got season tickets during the 2022 playoffs and says he hasn't missed a game since.

"Game 6 was my 116th straight home game in Edmonton."

He says he's set a goal for himself to see the team play in every NHL rink.

"I was able to make it to eight different rinks this year to see them play. I'm hoping over the next three to four years I'll be able to see them play in every NHL rink."

The Oilers superfan told us he's had the chance to meet a lot of interesting people in his travels, including Mary Loewen, who has become known as Mama Stanley.

"All the Oilers fans are diehard, but to meet and really get to know and become friends with a lot of the other superfans has been really amazing."
