The extreme cold warning for Wheatland County, which affects Hussar, Standard, Gleichen, Strathmore, Lyalta, and Carseland, has continued.

Wind chills between -40 and -50 will continue this morning. The cold arctic air is expected to remain through Thursday morning before moderating Thursday afternoon.

Due to the extreme weather frostbite can develop within minutes on exposed skin.

Extreme cold warnings are issued when very cold temperatures or wind chill creates an elevated risk to health, such as frostbite and hypothermia.
