The Calgary Flames almost took another step closer to the second round yesterday in Edmonton but unfortunately fell 5-4 in overtime to the Dallas Stars.

The Flames were up 4-3 with 12 seconds left in the game, when Joe Pavelski slipped his third of the game behind Cam Talbot to tie it, with Alexander Radulov getting the winner 16:05 into overtime to give the Stars the win and get them back into the series now tied 2-2.

The Flames and Stars are back at it Tuesday, August 18 at 3:30 p.m. at Rogers Place for game five.

The St. Louis Blues kept the Vancouver Canucks from going up 3-0 in their series thanks to a 3-2 overtime win Sunday night. The Canucks lead that series two games to one.

The Philadelphia Flyers shut out the Montreal Canadiens 1-0, and lead that series 2-1.

The Chicago Blackhawks staved off the sweep, beating the Las Vegas Golden Knights 3-1 to stay alive in their series.

While the New York Islanders got past the Washington Capitals 2-1 in overtime to take a 3-0 series lead.

Four playoff series resume today with the Colorado Avalanche and Arizona Coyotes game underway with the Av's leading the series 2-1.

The Tampa Bay Lightning won their game this afternoon and took a 3-1 lead in their series against the Columbus Blue Jackets.

The Boston Bruins are facing Carolina with the Hurricanes trailing 2-1 in the series. The puck drops for that game at 6 p.m. (MDT).

The Canucks will look to go up 3-1 on the Blues in the late game from Edmonton starting at 8:30 p.m. (MDT).
