The Calgary Flames suffer the tough game four loss to the Edmonton Oilers to go down 3-1 in the series losing 5-3. The Flames must win out the rest of the series to advance.

The Edmonton Oilers dominated the first period by scoring three unanswered goals from Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, Zach Hyman, and Evander Kane. At the end of the first period, the Flames were trailing by a score of 3-0.

In the second period, the Flames started playing catchup. They were able to score two goals to make the score 3-2 by the end of the second period. The goals were scored by Elias Lindholm and Mikael Backlund.

Early in the third period, the Flames were able to score the equalizer on a funny bounce thanks to Rasmus Andersson. But from there, things went wrong for the Flames. Ryan Nugent-Hopkins was able to put one behind Flames goalie Jacob Markstrom to make the score 4-3. The Oilers did score an empty netter from Evander Kane to finish off the game with a final score of 5-3.

The Flames are now in a do-or-die situation where they have to win three straight games to advance to the next round.

Game five is in Calgary on Thursday, game time is at 7:30 pm.
