Volleyball is our go-to sport it seems as another banner has been claimed by a local school George Freeman School.   The volleyball program made steady progress through the season by working on a strong defense with a good blocking system.  James Kaye, head coach for the George Freeman Falcons Volleyball Team was pleased with the outcome, "It was a very successful season as the year went on.  They improved and kept improving, and we kept finishing second in all our tournaments, and then in Zones, they played really well.  They didn't even drop a set, and they were able to win the zone championship."

This win was not without difficulty, the team had to overcome strife that many teams did not, "Actually, in the tournament we were short-handed.  We finished off the Zones championships with seven players.  We had a few players play the whole championship when they were sick, but really they were very resilient and played hard and were able to come up with a victory."

A great set of fundamentals and a determination that rivals a rolling locomotive brought the Falcons a well-deserved title, "Throughout the tournament, we had very good blocking, it was us and Our Lady of the Snows, which is in Canmore, they hosted the tournament."
