Strathmore High School (SHS) is beyond excited to be putting on a production of Grease this year!

The musical Grease follows ten working-class teenagers in the 1950's as they navigate the complexities of peer pressure, personal core values, and love. Grade 12 SHS graduate Avalon Strauss plays Marty Maraschino and she is expecting a crowd to come walking through the doors as opening night is already sold out.

"There is definitely going to be a lot of adrenaline going through our veins for opening night but hopefully it will be good."

Strauss explains they have been working really hard since the start of the semester to put this production on for everyone to see.

"We have been rehearsing every week, every class, after school, maybe twice a week. We have also been doing morning rehearsals. We come in at 7:30 in the morning and rehearse before school even starts."

There are around 75 plus students gearing up to put on this production and as Strauss says they have worked really hard for it this year.

"It's definitely been a struggle with how many people we've had in the class in order to get everybody up on stage, but we've definitely worked our hardest and it should be a really fun show to come watch."

Working this hard for production is just par for the course for Strauss, as she's been doing drama productions since she started her high school career 3 years ago and knows the amount of dedication it takes.

You can book your $10.00 tickets by texting 403-821-3203. Tickets are only available for the Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday shows. Grease runs from June 2-7 and the times are as follows, with each day having a show at 7:00 p.m.
