If you're a kid, it helps to know what's new and cool for the summer, and there’s a whole slew of activities planned for local kids through Hope Community Covenant Church!

Hope Church summer students Adrianna Kiemeny, Emmarsyn, Brady, and Michela put together some exciting programs this summer.

Starting on Thursdays throughout the summer they will be breaking out the bouncy house and hosting crafts on the lawn for Art On The Lawn, from 10 a.m. to noon.

Art On The Lawn will run throughout the summer on Thursdays with the exception of August 9.

Summer Lunch Box is another program that sees the Hope Church summer students making box lunches for participants to eat while they enjoy the outdoors.

"That is where we go to different parks around town and you bring bag lunches. We bring our yard games and we have a good time," Kiemeny says.

Summer Box Lunches takes place on Wednesdays from 11 am to 1 pm. She explained that the venue may change so participants should check social media for updates.

Hope Church will also be showing ‘Space Jam’ during Movie Night on August 5th. The doors will open to the public at 6 pm with the movie playing at 6:30 pm

Finally, from August 9 to 12, the church will be hosting a summer camp.

Kiemeny explained that they are still looking for volunteers to help out with the camp.

“Getting props ready and making sure we have all the stuff for crafts, and then also a little community outreach by planning games and such.” All of this is done with an aim of helping kids stay energized and active during the summer.
