Southern Alberta is under a snowfall warning with general snowfall amounts between 10 and 20 cm today, but some areas could see up to 35 cm. 
 
This will cause only a visibilities of less than 1 kilometer.  Snow will end this evening in Jasper and by Wednesday morning in Pincher Creek.

Heavy wet snow may cause some trees to bend or break.

Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow.

Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions. 
 
Currently the road conditions west of Calgary are in very poor winter driving condition. 

The RCMP are asking motorists to avoid travel west of Calgary on highway 1.  

Currently highway 1 westbound at approximately 22 is not moving.  

There are vehicles scattered all over the highway and in the ditch.  

Highway crews and tow trucks are out trying to improve the road and driving conditions.  

In many areas west of the city, visibility is significantly reduced due to blowing snow.

The RCMP are asking the public to avoid travel today if you can, and if you must head out, then please give yourself tons of time to get where you’re going.
