On December 14, the Wheatland Kings took on the Lomond Lakers. Both teams came out fast but the story of the first period would be about the goalies. Shot after shot was turned aside by both teams goalies and by the end of the first, the game would remained tied at 0-0 with the Kings goalie facing 13 shots and the Lakers goalie stopping 11. Both teams would find themselves in the penalty box more than once, and sometime at the same time, making for some fast paced four on four action.

The game would remain tied for a majority of the second period until about six minutes left in the period the Kings would finally find the back of the net to make it 1-0. Lomond would answer back quick with a goal of their own to tie the game back up at 1-1. These two teams seemed to be a very even match going into the third period, tied on the scoreboard and the shot clock, 22 for the Kings and 22 for the Lakers.

At the start of the third period the Lomond Lakers would come out fast and take the lead 2-1. The Kings would battle hard in the remainder of the third period, but the Lakers goalie would stand tall and stop a total of 32 shots. The Lakers would secure their win with a empty net goal to make the final 3-1.

The Kings final home game of 2019 is December 15 against the Airdrie Techmation Thunder, puck drop is at 4:45 p.m.
