After not being able to get out and see people in the community, it was a nice change to be able to visit surrounding farms to bring a little surprise to the hard-working farmers of the Strathmore area.

Grain Rush 2020 kicked off at the beginning of September and wrapped up today after 18 lunch deliveries! Last, but certainly not least, on the tour was Risdon Farming Ltd. They were happy to wrap up their harvest season with a delicious lunch from Kim's Katering and Hunger Paynes after finishing up their harvest just yesterday.

Today's sponsor was MLA Leela Sharon Aheer's office who was on hand to deliver lunch and some swag bags as well.

Brooke Parker of Risdon Farming said this year went really well for them. Like many other farms in the area, they were thankful for the good weather to allow them to finish harvest before any snow arrived. This year Parker said they had a good harvest of yellow peas, malting barley, hard red wheat, and canola.

A big shout out goes to everyone involved with making our first ever Grain Rush a great success, and of course a big thanks to all the hard-working farmers who help put food on our tables!
