The public hearing gave the public a chance to voice their opinion for or against the project. After a short presentation on the project, Dean Klaiber, a property owner whose land is next to the project, expressed his support of the project.

Klaiber did mention he was supportive on the condition that the roadway at the main entrance of the Legacy Farms project leading to his property is covered.

There were no residents who opposed the project. After another presentation from the senior manager of the project, councilors were able to ask questions.

Deputy Mayor Jason Montgomery asked if the project followed the South Saskatchewan Regional Plan, and administration answered that it was.

He also asked if there were any issues forming the plan for the project in accordance with the Calgary Metropolitan Regional Board project requirements and the planning team said they had run into no issues.

Councilor Brent Wiley then asked when they would like to have shovels in the ground and Bruce Klaiber explained that there have been significant delays with the pandemic. The group also wanted to wait for the council's approval before starting the construction.

The public hearing was then closed, and the bylaw was unanimously passed during a regular council meeting that same night.
