Try your luck on the green for the Strathmore Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 10 Memorial Golf Tournament. The tournament is being held in honouor of the 100th Anniversary of the Great War Memorial Hall.
The tournament will be held on Sunday, July 10th at 10 a.m. at Oxbow Golf Course.
According to the centennial committee, this tournament features a chance to win a Million Dollar Hole-in-One sponsored by the local GMC dealership plus several other prizes.
A $95 per golfer fee includes 9 holes, use of a golf cart and steak BBQ following play at the 10th hole hosted by the Legion. Space is limited and pre- registration is required. Drop by the Legion on 2nd Avenue or e-transfer to RCL10@shaw.ca Password – legion to register yourself or a Team.
Is was also noted that the challenge is not open to professional golfers or pros.
According to the Legion, through the years the Hall has been lovingly maintained and holds a special place in the hearts of many. But like most organizations hit by COVID since 2019 fundraising had all but ceased and the Legion now finds the facilities and the Cenotaph in need of maintenance and some upgrading.
