After a tough year for many people and businesses, the town of Strathmore is still finding ways to support our community.

Mike Scott, the owner of Mike’s Bar and Grill, has stepped up to help collect donations for the Wheatland Crisis Society and Parachutes for Pets.

Scott explained, “This will be the third year we’ve done this for the Crisis Society. We wanted to continue it even though the pandemic is going on.” He continued to say, “The pet supplies collection is new, one of our staff suggested it so I said why not!”

Scott said, “We’ve got almost all of the names off of the tree, so people have purchased gifts for them and we’re really happy Strathmore is supporting us this way.”

When asked if they’ve received a lot of donations yet, Scott chuckled, “My office is getting filled up with all the donations right now!”

People interested in donating can go into the restaurant and take a tag off the tree to buy a gift that will go to the Wheatland Crisis Society. To donate to Parachutes for Pets people can bring in pet supplies like food or toys that will go to help animal shelters.
