Las Vegas is an exciting place in general, but you take that and add something that your passionate about and it becomes 10 times more exciting. A small town team from Matrix Cheer All Stars had big dreams and placed third in their division during their Las Vegas competition. Vegas was a whole new experience for the The Platinum Elite team said Tabatha Poole from Matrix Cheer.

“This competition had teams from all over the States and there’s teams from Mexico, Canada, so it was a huge competition and they were super excited to go there and represent a small town Alberta and they did an amazing job. This competition is known to be a very well known competition in the States and Canada because of the atmosphere it has and the kids have never been to a competition that they have felt the atmosphere as well as they did in this competition.” Said Poole.

Our division was pretty small with only three teams and the competition had about 100 teams overall. To place third in such a huge competition is something to certainly be ecstatic about and takes a lot of dedication.

“It was a two day competition and on the second day they had the performance of a lifetime. They put their hearts on the mat and they walked off that mat being as happy as they can be and know that they gave their all out there and they did everything they could and everything else was in the judges hands.” Said Poole.

You can see The Platinum Elite team take on their next competition in Edmonton next weekend, and you can cheer on two of the smaller teams this weekend in Red Deer, and soon enough they will be in Edmonton and Saskatchewan. The next big competition will be Niagara Falls where they take the two biggest teams to compete in April.
