Eight musicians will be heading to John Peake Park in Chestermere for a free music festival.

The 2024 Summer Music Fest was announced by the City of Chestermere on Wednesday through its Facebook page, with this one-day festival taking place on August 10 upon the shores of Chestermere Lake.

The event begins at 12 p.m. with food trucks and a marketplace before the kids' zone opens up an hour later alongside the start of the musical performances.

Here is a schedule of the performances for the festival:

  • 1:00 p.m. - Michela Sheedy.
  • 2:00 p.m. - The Camie Leard Band.
  • 3:30 p.m. - Jared Daniels.
  • 4:45 p.m. - Follow the Rabbit.
  • 6:00 p.m. - Morrissey's Private Stock.
  • 7:30 p.m. - Robert Gosse.
  • 9:00 p.m. - Will Randall.

Mayor Shannon Dean will also be on stage between Michela Sheedy and The Camie Leard Band, but he won't be performing any songs. Instead, he'll be giving a welcoming speech to the audience.

Starting at 3 p.m. there will also be a beer garden that stays open until 10:30 p.m., right as the fireworks begin. The fireworks will be going off from the north end of the lake, if weather permits.

The City of Chestermere also recommends that residents bring their own lawn chairs and picnic blankets to the event.
